With a playoff win on the line, Austin Catholic rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Cardinal Mooney Catholic Cardinals with a sharp 3-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Crusaders: when they faced off against the Cardinals back in September, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

Allie Gianino paced Austin Catholic's offense, picking up 11 kills. Gianino got some help from Rebecca Shrodes and her 16 assists. Finally, Emerson Minjoe kept Austin Catholic's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Austin Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-18-2 record this season. As for Cardinal Mooney Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 18-12-3.
