Basketball Recap: South Gwinnett Comes Up Short

South Gwinnett came up into this matchup off a tough 48-point loss last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Southwest Atlanta Christian Warriors by a score of 60-58 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while the Warriors are ranked 53rd).

South Gwinnett dropped their record down to 3-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Southwest Atlanta Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

South Gwinnett will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Grayson at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. After both having extra time off, Southwest Atlanta Christian and Windsor Forest will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 1:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
