Basketball Recap: Trinity Takes a Loss

Trinity lost against Wheatmore back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Trinity Bulldogs were beaten by the Wheatmore Warriors 51-24. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 350th, while the Warriors are ranked 169th).

Despite the loss, Trinity had strong showings from Madison Hill, who went 6 of 14 en route to 18 points, and Mya Hooker, who posted three points and ten rebounds. Hooker is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last four games she's played.

Trinity's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4. As for Wheatmore, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Trinity wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-26 loss against Uwharrie Charter Academy on the 20th. As for Wheatmore, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-32 win against Eastern Randolph on the 20th.
