Caleb Howard leads a balanced attack to beat Saltillo

Recap: Grenada Chargers vs. Saltillo Tigers

The Grenada Chargers proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 48) but on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Saltillo 69-66. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grenada to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb Howard, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Kelton Jones, who scored 19 points.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cayden Howell, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine assists. Howell is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 18 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Adams, who scored 21 points.

Even though they lost, Saltillo were working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grenada only posted five assists.

Grenada has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-13 record this season. As for Saltillo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-13.

Grenada does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Saltillo also has no future games currently scheduled.
