Basketball Recap: St. Catherine's Comes Up Short

St. Catherine lost against Collegiate back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The St. Catherine's Saints took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Collegiate Cougars.

Collegiate was led to victory by Clare Aman and Celie Shield. Aman almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards, while Shield went 7 of 8 en route to 15 points and six rebounds. Shield continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Carly Barnes, who posted seven points.

St. Catherine's has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Collegiate, their record now sits at 7-8.

St. Catherine's wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 59-41 loss against St. Margaret's on the 27th. As for Collegiate, they are taking a road trip to challenge St. Stephen's & St. Agnes at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
