Football Recap: Solanco Piles Up the Points Against Warwick

Solanco waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 35-7 win over the Warwick Warriors. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 21-0.

Kris Burgos-Wise was his usual excellent self, rushing for 88 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries. Johnny Garcia was another key rusher, rushing for 129 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Solanco was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 295 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 162 rushing yards in ten consecutive games dating back to last season.

Solanco didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Gabe Forren, Burgos-Wise, and Wesley Bard picked up one apiece. Forren is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least seven every time he's taken the field this season. Solanco received some extra help from Kali Hines, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Solanco's record now sits at 3-1. As for Warwick, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Solanco will take on Eastern York at 7:00 p.m. on the 20th. As for Warwick, they will face off against Cocalico at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
