Softball Recap: Yough Takes a Loss

Yough was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 7-4 to the Southmoreland Scotties. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Scotties when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kylee Odelli made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Payton Jenkins was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Yough's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Southmoreland, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Yough will challenge rival Ligonier Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Southmoreland is set to square off against their familiar foe Mt. Pleasant at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Scotties' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
