Dexter had already won five in a row dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the South Lyon Lions. That's two games straight that the Dreadnaughts have won by just one run.

Matt Clayton and Chance Sobbry did most of the damage at the plate: Clayton went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Sobbry scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Noah Fernando, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Dexter pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for South Lyon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Dexter will host Flushing at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for South Lyon, they have already played their next game, a 4-3 victory against Pioneer on the 4th.
