Basketball Recap: Acadiana Christian's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Acadiana Christian fought the good fight in their overtime match against NELA Christian Homeschool on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 53-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the NELA Christian Homeschool Flame. The Lions' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Acadiana Christian still got an impressive performance from Yvette Olivier, who almost dropped a double-double on 32 points and nine boards. The contest was Olivier's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Kacey Moore was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, Acadiana Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Acadiana Christian's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2. As for NELA Christian Homeschool, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Acadiana Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for NELA Christian Homeschool, they will challenge John Paul the Great Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 10th. NELA Christian Homeschool's defense has only allowed 28.1 points per game this season, so John Paul the Great Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
