Soccer Game Preview: San Benito vs. Economedes

San Benito hasn't had much luck against Economedes recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The San Benito Greyhounds will host the Economedes Jaguars at 6:30 p.m.

San Benito fell victim to Edinburg North and their airtight defense on Monday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Cougars are ranked 103rd).

Meanwhile, Economedes hasn't lost a match since January 18th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Weslaco with a sharp 7-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won 13 games by three goals or more so far this season.

Economedes' victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those seven matchups. As for San Benito, they now have a losing record of 8-9-2.
