Braylon Thomas and Lucas Stanley secure win for Union Area

Recap: Union Area Scotties vs. Laurel Spartan

In what's become a running theme this season, the Union Area Scotties gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Laurel as Union Area made off with a 60-40 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-21.

Leading Union Area to victory were Braylon Thomas and Lucas Stanley. Thomas scored 14 points along with seven assists and five rebounds, while Stanley scored 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Stanley hasn't dropped below 15 points for ten straight games. Mike Gunn was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Union Area pushed their record up to 8-9 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Laurel, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Union Area will head out on the road to take on Cornell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Laurel, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against South Side at 7:30 p.m.
