Basketball Recap: North Kingstown Comes Up Short

On Friday, North Kingstown faced Classical in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The North Kingstown Skippers were beaten by the Classical Purple 85-52. The Skippers haven't had much luck with the Purple recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Finn Moynihan and Landon Bodington certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Moynihan posted 13 points, while Bodington went 6 of 15 en route to 13 points and five rebounds.

Leading Classical to victory were Eliezer Delbrey and Abdul Evans. Delbrey had 27 points, while Evans put up 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mohammed Fadia, who scored 12 points.

North Kingstown's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Classical, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

North Kingstown has already played their next contest, an 82-64 defeat against Barrington on the 4th. As for Classical, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 78-53 win against Tolman on the 4th.
