Volleyball Recap: Timber Creek Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Timber Creek duked it out with V.R. Eaton on Tuesday. The Falcons came up short against the Eagles, falling 3-0. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Timber Creek was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-17, 25-21.

Toree Rayford paced Timber Creek's offense, picking up ten kills. Rayford got some help from Lillian Day and her 16 assists.

V.R. Eaton was led to victory by Ariana Gomez and Keely DePauw. Gomez had 20 assists and nine digs, while DePauw had 17 assists and seven digs. That's the most digs Gomez has posted over her last seven contests.

Timber Creek dropped their record down to 13-13 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for V.R. Eaton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-11.

Timber Creek has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Northwest on the 26th. As for V.R. Eaton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Keller on the 26th.
