Softball Recap: Silver Creek Comes Up Short

Silver Creek was the 16-2 winner over Del Mar when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Raiders fell 15-11 to the Dons on Friday. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Emma Tang and Malerie Ramirez did some serious damage despite the final result: Tang went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Ramirez went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. Those stolen bases were Ramirez's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jessenia Garcia, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

Silver Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Del Mar, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-9.

Silver Creek and Del Mar will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Raiders see the field they'll take on Hill at 4:00 p.m. on the 28th. As for Del Mar, their break will end when they face Lincoln at 4:00 p.m. on the 30th.
