Basketball Recap: Lavaca Golden Arrows vs. Lamar Warriors
Lavaca lost against Lamar back in February of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lavaca Golden Arrows took a blow against the Lamar Warriors, falling 71-34. The contest marked the Golden Arrows' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lamar to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kendrick Carr, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 16 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks. Lavaca's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-4. As for Lamar, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.
Lavaca didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-27 loss against Subiaco Academy on the 19th. As for Lamar, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mansfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lamar knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Mansfield likes a good challenge.
