Preview: Harvey Hornets vs. Westhope/Newburg Sioux
Harvey has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Westhope/Newburg Sioux at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Harvey posted their closest victory yet this season on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood and snuck past 62-60.
Meanwhile, Westhope/Newburg put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Drake/Anamoose 77-41 on the road. Westhope/Newburg has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 27 points or more this season.
Walker Braaten was his usual excellent self, shooting 8-for-15 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 41 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Braden Bailey was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Harvey's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Westhope/Newburg, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-0.
