The Proctor Academy Hornets will face off against the Tilton School Rams at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Last Thursday, Proctor Academy came up short against St. Paul's and fell 6-3.
Abbie Vlacich was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Vlacich was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.
Vlacich wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cade Wiley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Tilton School got themselves on the board against Dana Hall on Friday, but Dana Hall never followed suit. They blew past Dana Hall 15-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.
Like Proctor Academy, Tilton School also got a great game from a two-way player: Gailine Paquin. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Paquin was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Maddy Andrade was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Allie Fowler, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.
Tilton School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dana Hall only posted an OBP of .143.
Proctor Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Tilton School, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
