Oakfield-Alabama was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in Section 5 Genesee Region. The Hornets beat Pembroke 35-7 earlier in the week.

Alexander scaled the state rankings by moving to 169 from 287 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Trojans climbed the ranks as a result of besting Attica 30-15.

Allen Chatt was a passing and rushing force as Oakfield-Alabama beat the Dragons. He completed 12 passes for 162 yards and also ran for 28 yards. Chatt's favorite target this week was Nick Tambe, who caught 3 passes for 101 yards.

Chris Nanni was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 13 carries, he ran for 51 yards as Brian Palone's team beat Pembroke. Chatt also contributed to the rushing game with 28 yards on the ground.

The Hornets' Chatt and Tambe have formed a dream team this season, leading Section 5 Genesee Region in both passing and receiving yards. Chatt has thrown for 564 yards this season, while Tambe, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 7 catches for 250 yards. Matt Perry from the Blue Devils leads the league in rushing with 759 yards.

Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when Oakfield-Alabama's Tambe goes up against Elba/Byron-Bergen's Austin Yockel.

One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when the Hornets and the Lancers face off next week.

Next week's game between Oakfield-Alabama and Elba/Byron-Bergen will feature an aerial matchup as Chatt tests his arm against Yockel's defensive ability.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Notre Dame takes on Norman Foster's team. The Fighting Irish are in first place, while the Dragons are in sixth place.

Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Notre Dame beat Michael Cintorino's team 40-7. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
