Basketball Recap: Justin Kingbowa's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tri-Cities Christian over Archbishop Mcnicholas

Tri-Cities Christian has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 91-84 to the Archbishop McNicholas Rockets on Sunday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 92nd in Tennessee, while the Rockets are ranked 304th in Ohio).

Tri-Cities Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Justin Kingbowa, who went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc on his way to 21 points and six rebounds. Those 21 points gave Kingbowa a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Peters, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 18 points.

Archbishop McNicholas was led to victory by Grant Waters and Charlie Clark. Waters went 11 of 25 on his way to 39 points, while Clark went 8 of 18 en route to 23 points along with five boards and three steals. Brody Conrad was another key player, putting up eight points.

Tri-Cities Christian's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Archbishop McNicholas, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season.

Tri-Cities Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 77-51 defeat against Miller School of Albemarle on the 3rd. As for Archbishop McNicholas, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 77-66 victory against Bishop Fenwick on the 8th.
