Ballard waltzed into their match on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Roosevelt Roughriders. That's two games straight that the Beavers have won by just one run.

Colette Howren was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Howren was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.

Howren wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Wren Wald, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Katie Davis, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Ballard pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Roosevelt, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-6.

Ballard didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Stanwood on the 28th. As for Roosevelt, they have also already played their next game, a 13-1 defeat against Juanita on the 28th.
