Baseball Recap: Teaneck's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against NV - Old Tappan, Teaneck was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the River Dell Golden Hawks with a sharp 16-5 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Highwaymen's hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Joey Hardyman was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those hits marked the first that he got this season. Brandon Meyer was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

Teaneck was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as River Dell only posted a batting average of .286.

Teaneck moved to 2-4 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for River Dell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Teaneck will welcome Indian Hills at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for River Dell, they will be playing at home against New Milford at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
