Softball Recap: Princeton Comes Up Short

Princeton and Fairfield squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Princeton had to settle for second. They fell 5-0 to the Indians. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Vikings' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Princeton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Fairfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Princeton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fairfield, they will face off against Fairmont at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Firebirds have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
