Softball Recap: Notre Dame Has No Trouble Against Xavier Prep

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Linfield Christian, Notre Dame was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Xavier Prep Saints with a sharp 15-1 win. With that victory, the Titans brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

Notre Dame got a great performance from Sydney Cramer as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over 4.2 innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave Cramer a new career-high.

At the plate, Shea McCann and Mikey Rodriguez did most of the damage at the plate: McCann scored two runs while going 3-for-5, while Rodriguez went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double. The dominant performance also gave McCann a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Eliana Lomeli, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Notre Dame was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Xavier Prep only posted a batting average of .056.

The win got Notre Dame back to even at 5-5-1. As for Xavier Prep, their loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-14.

Notre Dame didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-3 victory against Citrus Hill on the 1st. As for Xavier Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 18-1 defeat against La Quinta on the 25th.
