Softball Game Preview: City View Mustangs vs. Jacksboro Tigers

City View hasn't had much luck against Jacksboro recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Mustangs will host the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. City View has given up an average of 14.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

City View is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 16th straight game on Friday. They lost 24-7 to Bowie.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Jacksboro ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past Henrietta 9-8.

Brooke Reaves spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Jacksboro let Brailyn Tullous and Lilly Perez run wild. Tullous scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances, while Perez went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Starr Wesson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Jacksboro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 8-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

City View's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Jacksboro, their victory bumped their record up to 16-11-1.
