Basketball Recap: East Wake Comes Up Short

East Wake saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 36-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pinecrest Patriots. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Pinecrest's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gabrielle Donze, who posted 11 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ava Vonderkall, who earned six points.

This is the second loss in a row for East Wake and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Pinecrest, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, East Wake will face off against Northern Nash at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pinecrest, they will take on Providence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
