Softball Game Preview: Bishop McDevitt Crusaders vs. Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils

The Bishop McDevitt Crusaders will head out to take on the Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Greencastle-Antrim took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Bishop McDevitt, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, Bishop McDevitt was able to grind out a solid win over Gettysburg, taking the game 7-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.

Janna Thomas made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Thomas was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Bishop McDevitt got a big performance out of Alivia Whiteside, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Roadcap, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Greencastle-Antrim came up short against South Western on Thursday and fell 7-3. The matchup marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meadow Gambacurta was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. Zhen Reuter was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

The victory got Bishop McDevitt back to even at 3-3. As for Greencastle-Antrim, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.
