Recap: Campolindo Cougars vs. Heritage Patriots
The Campolindo Cougars waltzed into Friday's matchup with two straight wins but they left with three. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 65-38 victory over Heritage. With Campolindo ahead 36-8 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Dylan Mansour was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mansour has scored at least 25% of Campolindo's points. Another player making a difference was Gavin Rendle, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Heritage saw an underclassman step up: Brady Lockrem scored 21 points along with five rebounds. Lockrem also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. Austin Beltram was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds.
Heritage struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Campolindo racked up 16 assists.
Campolindo's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Campolindo and Liberty will face off at 2:30 p.m. on December 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Liberty will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 417th, while Campolindo is ranked 90th).
