Softball Game Preview: Johnson Creek Bluejays vs. Deerfield Demons

For the second straight game, Johnson Creek will face off against Deerfield. The Bluejays will be playing in front of their home fans against the Demons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Johnson Creek has won six straight at home dating back to last season, while Deerfield won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.

On Tuesday, Johnson Creek earned a 5-2 victory over Deerfield. The win continues a trend for the Bluejays in their matchups with the Demons: they've now won three in a row.

Tori Buglass made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Madi Brigowatz was a standout: she scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Lainey Benz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Having lost for the first time this season, Deerfield fell to 7-1. As for Johnson Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
