Softball Recap: Warhill's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Warhill put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the York Falcons get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Not much got past Skyler Wilson, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep York off the board.

On the hitting side, Warhill let Payton Auerbach - GMU and Mallory Herspold run wild. Auerbach - GMU scored four runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3, while Herspold went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Auerbach - GMU is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keamani Fujimoto, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Warhill's record is now 3-0. As for York, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Warhill will host Woodside at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for York, they will venture away from home to face off against Poquoson at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. York's pitchers better be ready for this one: Poquoson has averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
