After a string of nine wins, St. Charles Catholic's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Archbishop Shaw Eagles by a score of 4-3. The Comets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

St. Charles Catholic's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 19-10. As for Archbishop Shaw, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-16.

Coming up, Archbishop Shaw will challenge Chalmette at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Charles Catholic will be paying especially close attention to the Eagles' match: after the Eagles faces off against the Owls, they'll take on St. Charles Catholic again at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
