Northgate waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Deer Valley Wolverines. This was payback for the Broncos, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

When it comes to explaining why Deer Valley lost, don't look at Rylan Cristobal. Despite the final result, he had two aces and one block. Cristobal has been hot recently, having also posted 14 or more assists the last four times he's played.

Northgate's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Deer Valley, they moved to 9-3 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Coming up, Northgate will challenge Acalanes at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give Acalanes their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Deer Valley, they will take on Livermore at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
