Softball Recap: Pocahontas Triumphs

It was close, but on Saturday the Pocahontas Indians sidestepped the Jesup Hawks for a 5-4 victory. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by just one run.

The win made it two in a row for Pocahontas and bumps their season record up to 3-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Jesup, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Pocahontas will square off against Algona at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Jesup, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-0 victory against Turkey Valley on the 30th.
