Football Game Preview: Wabash Apaches vs. Northwestern Tigers

The Wabash Apaches will square off against the Northwestern Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wabash has given up an average of 46.3 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wabash is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell 47-41 to Northfield on Friday. The Apaches haven't had much luck with the Norsemen recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Wabash got top-tier performance from Haiden McWhirt, who threw for 212 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 56 yards. A healthy portion of McWhirt's aerial production (87 yards to be exact) went to Treyce Daughtry.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 21-21 at halftime, Northwestern was not quite Maconaquah's equal in the second half on Friday. They took a hard 42-28 fall against the Braves.

Wabash will have to contain Bradyn Wilson as he made an impact in Northwestern's last game. He picked up 101 receiving yards and one score.

Northwestern's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Wabash, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Wabash was dealt a bruising 40-6 loss at the hands of Northwestern in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Apaches, Brock Shank (who threw for 286 yards and five TDs while picking up 12.4 yards per attempt) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
