Baseball Game Preview: Mathews Mustangs vs. Cardinal Huskies

The Mathews Mustangs will head out to take on the Cardinal Huskies at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mathews will be strutting in after a win while Cardinal will be coming in after a defeat.

While Mathews didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Harding with a sharp 10-2 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won four matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Cardinal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 14-0 to St. John. That's two games in a row now that the Huskies have lost by exactly 14 runs.

Mathews' win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-4. As for Cardinal, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
