Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Slaton's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

Slaton hadn't done well against Idalou recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Slaton Tigers rang in the new year with a 44-32 win over the Idalou Wildcats. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Wildcats are ranked 576th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Slaton is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Idalou, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-9.
