Volleyball Game Preview: Manteno Panthers vs. Seneca Fighting Irish

The Manteno Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Seneca Fighting Irish at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Manteno is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Bishop McNamara by a score of 2-0. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Fightin' Irish: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Seneca narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Coal City 2-1.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Seneca who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 26-24, 19-25, 27-25.

Manteno's record now sits at 30-5. As for Seneca, their record is now 24-11.

Manteno beat Seneca 2-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Fighting Irish have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
