Football Recap: Fleming's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Fleming extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 7-3. They put the hurt on the Franklin County Eagles with a sharp 31-7 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Colonels' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Eagles are ranked 95th).

Fleming had a senior duo take command as Jycer Preston rushed for 58 yards and two TDs and Josiah Ragland gained 140 total yards. Ragland also hauled in a receiving touchdown, marking his first of the season.

Fleming's run defense was locked in: Franklin County could only muster -0.2 yards per carry. The Colonels hasn't allowed more than six yards per carry in three consecutive matchups.

As for Franklin County, their record now sits at 4-6. They haven't had much luck with Fleming recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the loss, Franklin County still got an impressive performance from Quincy Pruett, who picked up 121 receiving yards and one score. With that strong performance, Pruett is now averaging an impressive 103.8 receiving yards per game.

Looking ahead, Fleming will welcome Freeman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
