Vianney was the 2-0 winner over Christian Brothers when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Golden Griffins fell just short of the Cadets by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Golden Griffins' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Vianney took Christian Brothers into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-21, 25-21, 19-25, 15-12.

Sam Dore paced Vianney's offense, picking up 22 kills. Dore got some help from Connor Johnson and his 41 assists.

Vianney's loss dropped their record down to 13-9-1. As for Christian Brothers, their win bumped their record up to 9-15-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vianney will face off against O'Fallon at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Golden Griffins surely won't give up without a fight. As for Christian Brothers, they will challenge De Smet Jesuit at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their 20th straight win, something the Cadets surely won't give up without a fight.
