Strom Thurmond and Silver Bluff are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Rebels will welcome the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Strom Thurmond and three for Silver Bluff.

On Tuesday, Strom Thurmond ended up a good deal behind Mid-Carolina and lost 52-36. That's two games in a row now that Strom Thurmond has lost by exactly 16 points.

Despite their loss, Strom Thurmond saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ja'Corey Gray, who posted seven points and six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Walker, who earned nine points.

Meanwhile, Silver Bluff was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 69-63 to South Aiken. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly six points.

Strom Thurmond will have to contain Zean Dicks as he made an impact in Silver Bluff's last game. He put up 23 points. Another player making a difference was Lance Hieke Jr., who had 12 points.

Silver Bluff's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Strom Thurmond, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Strom Thurmond came up short against Silver Bluff when the teams last played back in January, falling 44-39. Can the Rebels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
