Softball Recap: Mansfield Summit Takes a Loss

Mansfield Summit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Burleson Elks, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Elks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 27-6 back in March.

Mansfield Summit saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aliveya Sullivan, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Sullivan's first of the season.

Mansfield Summit's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Burleson, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mansfield Summit will take on rival Mansfield Timberview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Burleson is set to face off against their familiar foe Seguin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
