Soccer Game Preview: Kearney vs. Smithville

The Kearney Bulldogs will take on the Smithville Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kearney knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Smithville likes a good challenge.

Kearney's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Raytown South. Kearney haven't had any issues with Raytown South recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Smithville was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They fell just short of Pembroke Hill by a score of 1-0. The loss was Smithville's first of the season.

Kearney's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those three matches. As for Smithville, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
