Basketball Recap: South Charleston Takes a Loss

South Charleston was the 44-39 winner over Independence when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The South Charleston Black Eagles took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Independence Patriots on Friday.

Independence was led to victory by Harmony Mills and Lacey Goodson. Mills dropped a double-double with 26 points and 14 boards, while Goodson dropped a double-double with 26 points and ten rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Goodson has scored at least a third of Independence's points.

South Charleston dropped their record down to 7-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Independence, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.

South Charleston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Independence, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Liberty at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
