Basketball Recap: Shadow Ridge Takes a Loss

Shadow Ridge lost against Cesar Chavez back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Shadow Ridge Stallions were beaten by the Cesar Chavez Champions 68-25. The Stallions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cesar Chavez had a senior duo take command as Lakeisha Robinson went 11 of 12 on her way to 22 points along with seven boards and three steals and Victoria Ballard went 9 for 15 en route to 21 points and five steals. The match was Ballard's eighth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Alex Ballard, who posted nine points and five steals.

Shadow Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Cesar Chavez, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 19-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shadow Ridge will host Apollo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Murryah Crump and Danica Lindemann. As for Cesar Chavez, they will be playing at home against Camelback at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Cesar Chavez's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests.
