Softball Game Preview: North Webster Knights vs. Summerfield Rebels

The North Webster Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Summerfield Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as North Webster comes in on three and Summerfield on four.

North Webster took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Loyola College Prep, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. North Webster came out on top in a nail-biter against Loyola College Prep on Monday, sneaking past 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since March 13, 2024.

Meanwhile, Summerfield got the win against Castor on Saturday by a conclusive 9-2. Considering the Rebels have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Summerfield's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for North Webster, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.

North Webster took their victory against Summerfield when the teams last played back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 8-0. Does North Webster have another victory up their sleeve, or will Summerfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
