Baseball Recap: Augusta Extends Winning Streak to Three

Augusta waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the St. Patrick Saints 18-3. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly 15 runs.

Augusta's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. Patrick, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Augusta will host Harrison County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Thorobreds/Fillies' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Patrick, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Paris at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
