Basketball Recap: Teague Takes a Loss

Teague was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 64-42 to the Fairfield Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 73-45 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Teague lost, don't look at Brayden Leija. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 10 to rack up 19 points and five boards. What's more, Leija also posted a 60% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Grayson Dancer, who posted four points.

Teague's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Fairfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Lions take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fairfield, they will take on Buffalo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
