Football Game Recap: Carlisle Takes a Loss

Carlisle lost against Overton back in October of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Carlisle Indians were outmatched by the Overton Mustangs at home and fell 40-10.

Overton had a senior duo take command as Bryce Still threw for 340 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes and Jayden Edwards picked up 120 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Edwards' receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 120 receiving yards dating back to last season.

Carlisle's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Overton, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carlisle will face off against San Augustine at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Overton, they are taking a road trip to take on Bowie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
