It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but El Cerrito had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They walked away with a 61-53 win over the American Canyon Wolves. The victory was familiar territory for the Gauchos, who have now won ten games in a row.

El Cerrito was led to victory by Mahal Mcbride and Omolade Olateju. Mcbride posted 17 points, while Olateju put up 15 points. The contest was Olateju's third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dontae Butler, who earned eight points.

El Cerrito pushed their record up to 22-7 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.1 points over those games. As for American Canyon, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-16.

Looking ahead, El Cerrito will square off against St. Patrick-St. Vincent at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in El Cerrito's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 14 matchups. American Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
