Recap: Gainesville Hurricanes vs. Lincoln Trojans
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Gainesville Hurricanes can now relate to. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 51-49. Gainesville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lincoln apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Lincoln's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamiya Brown, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jamesia Smith, who scored 12 points along with six steals.
Gainesville has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Lincoln, they pushed their record up to 21-4 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home.
Gainesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lincoln, they will be playing at home against Beachside at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Florida (Lincoln is ranked 78th, while Beachside is ranked 60th).
