Football Recap: Cranford Cougars vs. Bernards Mountaineers
Cranford had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 27-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bernards Mountaineers on Friday.
A big part of Bernards' win came down to the chemistry between Nolan Walsh and his top target Sean Arcelay. Walsh threw for 196 yards and four TDs while Arcelay picked up 98 receiving yards and three scores. Those four passing touchdowns gave Walsh a new career-high.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cranford will square off against Somerville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bernards, they will face off against Hillside at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
